Coping with Loss for the Military Community
This series of two workshops (April-May 2019) will be offered through the Southwestern Ontario Military Family Resource Centre – Hamilton Satellite office in partnership with Lora Acosta (military spouse); certification in Thanatology. The series will introduce each participant
to the common responses to loss, surviving loss, coping as a family, patterns of grief with coping strategies, physical responses, and resources that are suited to the many unique grief experiences.
This pertains not only to the loss of a loved one but also the losses related to change in employment, health, housing and relocation, and finances.
What: Coping with Loss for the Military Community
When: Thursday April 11, 2019 – “Living with the Reality of Loss”
Thursday May 23, 2019 – “ It’s Okay to Feel this Way”
Where: 11FD Artillery Regiment Officer’s Mess
Light refreshments will be offered.

Who: Eligible participants would include currently serving, retired, medically releasing Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their adult military family members.
